Day 1: Hanoi – Halong Bay.
Leave Hanoi for Halong Bay in the morning. There are some short breaks along the way for refreshment and photo opportunity. Upon arrival in Halong City we board a luxury junk for a fine seafood lunch and a short cruise to Thien Cung Cave. After a short exploration of the cave we start our exploration of the bay paddling through an amazing area of limestone islets. We will pass a floating village to reach Luon Cave, which is a tunnel thrusting through a mountain. Paddling through the tunnel to explore a beautiful secluded lagoon. We will meet the in front of the cave. Aboard the junk for dinner and overnight in AC, private cabin o­nboard.

Day 2: Kayaking Halong Bay.
After breakfast we start paddling to "Van Gia" Floating village and then continue paddling to Dark Cave. Tide permitting, we explore this amazing cave by kayak. The cave is a 200m long, dark tunnel thrusting through a limestone mountain. The tunnel is the o­nly entry to a secluded and beautiful lagoon. We can also explore some other caves nearby. Lunch served o­n support boat in the most beautiful part of the Bay. Afternoon we paddle to Ba Trai Dao Lagoon, along a stunning and fairly rough sea channel, to explore its beautiful beaches. Continue paddling to Lan Ha Bay, which is smaller than Halong Bay but much more interesting with lots of secluded beaches. Cruise back to Halong Bay for dinner and overnight o­n mother boat.

Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi.
Enjoy the taichi lesson on the sundeck of the junk while she navigates amazing rock formations of Bai Tu Long Bay to get back to Halong City. Brunch of fresh seafood served o­n the junk before leaving Halong Bay for Hanoi.

Day 1:Hanoi - Lang Son - Cao Bang
This morning you leave the capital city of Hanoi for a three-hour drive to Lang Son City on the National Highway 1A. On arrival to this border city you will visit the local market. Continue along spectacular mountain roads to Cao Bang, a drive filled with spectacular views of lush valleys, village hamlets and distant mountains. Upon reaching Cao Bang, a small town on the Chinese border, there is time to take a short stroll to see the colorful mountain tribes living in this area.

Day 2:Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall

HSpend today exploring the unspoiled nature that surrounds Cao Bang as you drive along the Chinese border to Ban Gioc Waterfall. Set amid stunning scenery, overlooking the border, Ban Gioc is one of the country's largest waterfalls and you'll have time to relax or take a swim in its emerald waters. Return to Cao Bang late afternoon for a chance to explore more of this quaint town.

Day 3: Cao Bang - Pac Po Cave - Ba Be Lake
Early this morning depart for a drive north toward the Chinese border to see the historical site of the cave where President Ho Chi Minh live and work when he returned to Vietnam in early of 1940s. Along the way we stop and visit the exotic local markets to mingle with the hill tribes as they barter their wares. You'll return to Cao Bang midday and after lunch and drive to Ba Be National Park in the afternoon. On arrival, youwill meet up and become acquaint with the family of Tay tribe and tonight, stay at their traditional long house of the Tay village.

Day 4:Ba Be Lake - Dau Dang Waterfall
After breakfast, take a 3 boat trip with spectacular view of Ba Be lake and surrounding mountains and. Take a short trek to the Dau Dang Waterfall before visiting some villages of the Tay and Zao minority people, enjoying a picnic lunch along the way. Have dinner and stay overnight in the village of Tay tribe.

 Day 2:Hanoi – Halong Bay Cruise
Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then set out on a 3 to 4 hour drive to the UNESCO World Heritage site: Halong Bay. Spend 24 hours on a traditional Junk Cruise in the amazing bay: a natural wonderland composed of jutting limestone islands and sparkling turquoise waters. Arrive at the dock around noon and board your private junk. Savor a gourmet lunch of fresh seafood onboard as we sail out into the mystical bay. In the afternoon, cruise around some of Halong’s many islands, including Dinh Huong and Ga Choi. Along the way, visit one of the bay’s 3 largest caves (Thien Cung, Dau Go or Sung Sot). Stop at an island cove with a sheltered white-sand beach and take a dip in the warm waters of the East Sea (Bien Dong).  Day 4: Hanoi Mai Chau – Trekking.
Our driver and guide will meet you at your hotel and take you along highway 6 to Mai Chau: a small town nestled in the midst of a lush valley and surrounded by emerald-green rice fields. Enjoy picturesque views of the scenic landscape, sown with pagodas and rural villages. Stop along the way to visit the Muong tribe and then at Thung Khe Pass for a spectacular view of Mai Chau Valley. Have an authentic lunch with a local family of the White Thai Tribe and enjoy some free time to acquaint yourself with the villagers. In the afternoon, trek through terraced rice paddies and small villages, discovering the natural beauty of the valley and encountering the culture of the ethnic minority Thai people on our visits to the Pom Coong and Na Phon villages. Return to the home stay and help cook the evening meal. This is an opportunity to learn about the local cuisine and culture as you join the family to prepare a traditional dinner.  Day 5:Mai Chau – Dien Bien Phu
Start the day with a simple breakfast with your host family. Then take a short drive through the surrounding countryside, before setting off on a long and nice drive to the tea plantations and plateau of Moc Chau. We then travel from Son La, all the way to Dien Bien Phu on the newly upgraded highway No.6. This gorgeous stretch of road is lined with stunning scenery. We will make frequent photo stops en route and visit the minority villages of the H’mong and Black Thai peoples. Then visiting a tea plantation on Moc Chau plateau—Vietnam’s premier tea-growing region. In the afternoon we continue along winding mountain roads through North Vietnam’s stunning countryside. Drive pass the impressive Pha Din pass—a highlight of the day. Pha Din sits 1,000 meter or 3,280 feet above the sea level. According to local legend, “Pha Din” means the connection between Heaven and Earth. We arrive Dien Bien Phu later in the afternoon.

 Day 6:Dien Bien Phu- a visit to the historical relics – Cross border to Muang Khua
Nestled in a heart shaped basin near the border with Laos, lies Dien Bien Phu. The famous historical battleground, where the Vietnamese successfully defeated the French, marking the end of French colonial occupation. Start the day early with a visit to the local market where you will meet charming Thai tribes in their traditional costume purchasing their farm products.The next is military base and historical site of the First Indochina War. We drive 30 minutes out of city to the base of The Command of Dien Bien Phu Campaign (Muong Phang) – Located in a primitive forest in Muong Phang commune to the commanding bunker of General Commander-in-chief Vo Nguyen Giap and Hoang Van Thai.Get back to town and visit Dien Bien Phu Museum – Built at 1984 on the occasion of the year 30th after Dien Bien Phu Victory before visiting A1 Hill - The most important camp of the French and Bunker of the French General De Castries .After the lunch we continue on our journey, driving along the peaceful Muong Thanh Valley to the Tay Trang border gate to Laos where our Laos guide and driver are await for you .Crossing the border, we continue through one of Laos’ most remote regions all the way to Muang Khua, a one-horse border town located on the banks of the Nam Ou River. Arrive in Muang Khua in the late afternoon and check in at the hotel. Enjoy some free time to relax, then take a brief walking tour around the town to visit the local market and nearby pagoda.

 Day 7: Muang Khua – Luang Prabang
You don’t want to miss the early morning Binthabat ceremony. Hundreds of monks will leave their pagodas and make a slow procession through town, starting at 5:45AM and lasting for about an hour. You can easily find them in front of your hotel.Return to the hotel for breakfast and then start a nice journey passing picturesque scenery along the Nam Ou River—Laos’s longest inland river. Enjoy the beautiful mountainous setting on a 6 hour drive heading to Luang Prabang. Stop for a lunch on your own (of simple local cuisine at Muang Ngoy) and in the afternoon we take the boat cruise to Luang Prabang before the sunset with a stop at the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong rivers to visit the Pak Ou caves—a pantheon of gold Buddha statues tucked into the nooks of the limestone cliffs. It is then only a short distance from the caves to the village of Ban Xang Hai. Stop here to learn about LauLao (Lao whisky) and LauHai (Lao wine), before continuing down the Mekong to Luang Prabang. Check in at the hotel then take an evening stroll through the quaint streets and enjoy the sunset over the river and surrounding lush countryside. The evening highlight includes a visit to the local night market in the city center, where ethnic minority people come together to buy and sell their wares.

 Day 8:Luang Prabang City Tour.
Situated where the Nam Khan River meets the Mekong, lies the fabled city of Luang Prabang- the former capital of Laos and a UNESCO World Heritage site. With its lantern lit streets, lined with a mix of faded colonial mansions and sparkling mosaic temples; this city is known to enchant its visitors. Have breakfast at the hotel then enjoy a half-day tour through Luang Prabang. We begin with a visit to the Royal Palace Museum, then head to the magnificent Wat Xiengthong—representative of classic Laotian architecture, before seeing the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrines of Wat Aham and Wat Mai. Spend the rest of the day at your leisure, relaxing in one of the city’s many quirky cafés or strolling along the beautiful riverbank.

 Day 9:Luang Prabang – Phonsavan
Today we drive from Luang Prabang to Xieng Khuang, passing through Laos’ pristine countryside. This is over 7 hours drive with spectacular views of Laos’ rain forests and mountain ranges. Along the way we will stop for photo opportunities and visit various hill tribe villages. On arrival, check-in at your hotel and relax.

 Day 10:Xieng Khuang - Plain of Jars and Muang Khoun
Start the day with a trip to Phonsavan’s bustling central market. Visit the MAG (de-mining organization) exhibition before heading out to see the great stone wonders of Xieng Khuang, the Plain of Jars. First we will explore Site 1 where hundreds of large stone jars lie scattered about the enchanting plateau. Next, is the forested area of site 2 and a short scenic trek to Site 3, passing through the Thai Dam and Laos Leum village. Enjoy an afternoon tour of the old capital Muang Khoun and nearby villages of the H’mong and Thai Dam peoples.

 Day 11: Xieng Khuang—Vientiane
Today we take a short in-country flight from Phonsavan to Vientiane. Our driver and guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel in the city center. After a short rest, set out on a sightseeing tour of Laos’ eccentric capital, visiting all the city’s key attractions. Start the tour with a stop at Vientiane’s oldest temple, Wat Si Saket, filled with over 2,000 ceramic, gold, and silver Buddha images. Next we visit Haw Pha Kaew—the royal temple that once housed the famous Emerald Buddha—, before continuing on to Laos’ most significant national monument: Pha That Luang. We conclude our tour at Patuxai, known as Vientiane’s own Arc de Triumph.

point Day 2: Hanoi - Mai Chau 
We depart Hanoi early for Mai Chau village. An early lunch will be served at Poom Coong village before we jump on our bikes and cycle on a mixture of good single-track paths and undulating rough jeep trails to the Thai Village of Cun Pheo. The views are remarkable as we pass through village, hot springs, suspension bridges and across rice paddies. 
Biking: 30km – Moderate grade.

point Day 3:Mai Chau –Thanh Hoa – Yen Cat
Our early morning journey takes us away from the river and through the range of mountains that stretch from Mai Chau to Cuc Phuong to Hoa Lu. Although we have tarmac all the way, the riding can get a bit tough due to the undulating terrain. At Ngoc Lac, we get on a bus and transfer our weary legs to Nhu Xuan. Overnight at a local hotel in Nhu Xuan.

point Day 4: Nhu Xuan - Tan Ky - Kim Lien - Vinh
Today the ride will be on the newly built two-lane Ho Chi Minh Highway. There is not a lot of traffic however, and the road makes for smooth fast riding. A must-see enroute is the birthplace of Uncle Ho at Kim Lien village. From Kim Lien, we'll most likely transfer by bus or car to Vinh City. (Note due to the total distance some sections you will be transferred by vehicle, depending on the strength of the group and cycling conditions).

point Day 5: Vinh - Pho Chau - Huong Khe 
After breakfast, the shuttle will bring us back to Ho Chi Minh Highway. We disembark at Pho Chau, where our cycling begins. The roads today wind their way through lush jungle and beautiful villages nestled in the shadow of the historic Truong Son Mountain range. We reach Huong Khe at the end of the day, a remote town in Nghe An province.

point Day 6: Huong Khe - Phong Nha National Park
After breakfast, we continue riding on the Ho Chi Minh Trail. From Huong Khe, the landscape is amazing, the road tranquil. We ride up to 80km and then transfer to Phong Nha National Park. Overnight in a standard National Park Guest House.

point Day 7: Phong Nha - Dong Hoi - Quang Tri DMZ
Moderate After breakfast we'll vist the spectacular Phong Nha cave by boat and then wander through the cavern. Exploring the cave generally takes a few hours and then we return to the hotel. Here we get back on the bikes and travel toward the small town of Dong Hoi.

point Day 8:Dong Hoi - Khe Sanh
Branching temporarily from the Ho Chi Minh highway, we visit the Vinh Moc Tunnels; a 2.8km labyrinth where the Vietnamese hid from American troops during the War. 30km from Dong Ha we start cycling again across the DMZ. The road is quite flat and makes for good cruising! Enroute we will pass relics left over from the war and end up in the Vietnam/Laos border town of Khe Sanh, where some of the bloodiest battles took place.

point Day 9: Khe Sanh - Asau - Aluoi
After exploring the former marine base of Khe Sanh, we start to pedal to the Dakrong Bridge and then turn off into the Southern section of the HCM Trail. We begin our ascent back into the mountains along an extaordinary remote road to the tiny town of A Luoi. The route passes through dense forests and some wild landscapes. A Luoi is home to a multitude of ethnic minorities and the infamous Hamburger Hill.

point Day 10: Aluoi - Hue.
Moderate After breakfast, we leave the HCM Trails for good and pedal 60km for Hue. The ride is relatively easy as the terrain is flat. The landscape is dotted with quaint villages, jungles and rivers. We finish our ride at the Bach Ho Bridge and hop on a bus to transfer the last.

Today cycle via Lang Co beach before hitting the beautiful coastal roads and climb the Hai Van Pass on the way to Hoi An. The centre of Hoi An remains much the same as it was in its heyday. We take a walking tour to see the wooden-fronted houses that belonged to the town's prosperous merchants, the Japanese-covered Bridge and the wonderful market. Five kilometers from the centre of town is Cua Dai Beach, popular with both locals and visitors alike for its warm sea and beachfront seafood restaurants

point Day 12: Hoi An - City Tour & Leisure
Take a half-day walking tour through the narrow winding streets of the ancient quarter, visiting Chua Ong Pagoda, the Chinese Assembly Hall, the 200-year old Tam Ky ancestral house and the famous Japanese Bridge. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or your own shopping.
